The Vila™ is Kinglumi latest MultiCCT technology innovation to bring simplification and adaptability to the LED lighting market. This new technology provides you with the ability to change the color temperature by simply flicking the switch. Within one downlight, you have multiple color temperatures that range from warm white to cool white. This new feature doesn’t compromise the product performance. Powered by Lumileds LEDs, with an efficacy of up to 100lm/W, available models in 4.5 wattage and 6.5 wattage with fix or tiltable, push-fit terminal connector for loop in/out.
What's more, the Vila™ downlight is designed for loft insulation ceiling application, which can be directly covered the thermal insulation without any extra insulation cap, and provides an energy efficient and safe lighting installation.

Can I put Loft Insulation over Kinglumi LED Downlights?
In order to achieve Passive House/Zero Energy Building/Part L Compliance (energy efficiency) you shouldn't cut around thermal insulation. If you do this your home or building will not be energy efficient as valuable heat will escape through the hole of the downlight. A downlight can act like a chimney and draw out warm, rising air from a room, up into the cold space above, the effect would be considerably worse in upper floors containing lofts.
This poses the question: Can I put insulation over downlights? The answer to this used be no, but Kinglumi has designed 2 series of downlight(Jupiter™, Vila™) that tested and can be covered by the thermal insulation directly, which ensures the house to have an energy efficient and safe lighting installation. The plastic housing creates a barrier between the downlight and the thermal insulation which ensure the Max. case temperature under 90°C according to EN 60598 Part 12. The insulation can then be laid over the downlight and packed to the sides if necessary.
The plastic housing of the downlight provides fire protection as they are made from fire resistant material that prevents the spread of fire.
Fire resistant material test is according to EU flammability standards, UL 94 Class V0, and the needle flame test) the flammability tests to IEC/EN 60695-11-10 (UL94) (HB-V2-V1-V0) and IEC/EN 60695-11-20 (UL94) (5VA-5VB) and in addition the needle flame test to EN 60695-11-5.
The tests used for appliances to EN 60335-1 are the glow wire tests to

- 60695-2-11 Glow-wire flammability test for end products (GWT)
- 60695-2-12 Glow-wire flammability index test for materials (GWFI)
- 60695-2-13 Glow-wire temperature test for materials (GWIT)
In addition, flammability test requirements to Class UL 94 V1 and to the needle flame test may be required.
All these tests have been revised with no major changes in the last years.
